From getting an 70 on your math test to being dumped by your girl/boyfriend to protecting your family, those are the type of problems people in the world face. There are also different ways that people can solve/deal their problems, such as studying on your next test or ask your math teacher for help. In the book "REBOOT" by Amy Tintera, the author show how main character, Wren, deals with her problems. In the book, Wren is rebooted and her number is 178. When a teenager died, humans can "reboot" them, meaning bring them back to life. If the teenager is dead for a long time (ex: 178 minutes) and then rebooted, that teenager is more "robot", very little emotions and less human. If the teenager is dead for a short period of time (ex: 22 minutes), then s/he will be more human (like have feels and emotions and runs like a human). Wren (178) have to train newbie which is Callum who is only 22. As she spend more time with Callum, she began to have feels for him which is weird for an 178 to have feels and becoming more human. Wren ran into some troubles and she have to find a way to solve/deal with them.
In the beginning of the story, Wren's problem is that she need to protect her best friend, Ever, and her "crush", Callum. Both Ever and Callum have gone crazy for meat (human meat). Human want to experiment on the low numbers because they want to find a way to make the low numbers more "robot" and angry. In the book, it states "'Ever?' I whispered. She lunged at me and I scrambled out of bed...she bared her teeth...slammed to the ground..." and also "'What is that' 'What' I ask 'That smell'...'It smells like meat or something'...". Wren deals with this problem by protecting them and not letting them out of her sight. If the humans know they gone crazy, they might eliminate them which Wren don''t want to. Another problem is that as Wren and Callum start to be together, Wren is becoming more human which might get her being eliminated. To deal with that problem, she pretend that she is still 178 and didn't change.
In REBOOT the main character, Wren try her best to deal with her problems. The author show that through out the story. I realized after reading this story is that many people around the world are also trying to solve/deal with their problems. From a small problem to a big and complex problem, there will always be a way out. Readers can deal with it mentally or physically but there's always a chance. No matter what you do or think, just always know you might be finish.
